128. Robert ROEBUCK Immigrant Ancestor
(70) was born before 1664 in England. He immigrated in 1674 to Maryland.
At that time the Calvert family, Lords Proprietor of Maryland, still granted
50 acres of land to anyone who brought himself or another person into Maryland
to live. Robert Roebuck was one of five persons transported by Mathias Dicosta
of St. Mary's (who received the land). There is nothing to indicate that Robert
Roebuck took up land, and the length of his stay and his activities in Maryland
are unknown. It is believed he moved directly south, across the broad area of
the Potomac River into Northumberland County, Virginia, where he is mentioned
in court records. He was named in lawsuit against William Jones, executor of
Samuel Jones' estate on 23 Jun 1699 in Northumberland County, Virginia.
(71)(72)
He died about 15 Jun 1709 in Northumberland County, Virginia. He had an estate
probated on 20 Jun 1709 in Northumberland County, Virginia.
(73)(74)
(75) Executor of estate was younger Robert Roebuck (assumed to be
son). Children were:
64 i.
Robert ROEBUCK.
